Health Ministry Releases Revised Draft National Pharmacy Commission Bill, Invites Public Comments

New Delhi: The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) has released a revised draft of the National Pharmacy Commission (NPC) Bill, 2026, incorporating comments and suggestions received during the earlier public consultation process. The proposed legislation seeks to establish the National Pharmacy Commission (NPC) as the new regulatory body for pharmacy education and profession in India while repealing the Pharmacy Act, 1948.
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has revised the draft National Pharmacy Commission (NPC) Bill, 2026, proposed for setting up the National Pharmacy Commission (NPC) and repealing the Pharmacy Act, 1948, after examining comments and suggestions received during the public consultation process.
Accordingly, the revised draft National Pharmacy Commission Bill, 2026 has been uploaded on the website of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare [under the News and Highlights section (https://www.mohfw-dohfw.gov.in/static/uploads/2026/07/e09761311aa45a6e996226aa33b2d87f.pdf)] on 01.07.2026 vide public notice dated 01.07.2026.
This notice seeks the comments of the General Public/Stakeholders in order to enrich the proposed legislation. Comments may be furnished via e-mail at so.ahssecn-mohfw[at]gov[dot]in or by post to Under Secretary (AHS), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Kartavya Bhawan-1, 1st Floor, A-Wing, with the subject “Comments/Suggestions on the National Pharmacy Commission Bill, 2026” till 31.07.2026.
