Lucknow University Begins Admissions for Pharma Management MBA with 60 Seats
Lucknow: Lucknow University has commenced admissions for its MBA in Pharmaceutical Management programme for the academic session 2026-27, offering students an opportunity to pursue specialized management education focused on the pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors.
The two-year postgraduate programme will be offered through the Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences and will be conducted over four semesters. The course has an intake capacity of 60 seats and aims to develop professionals equipped to handle managerial responsibilities in the pharmaceutical industry.
Admissions will be granted through a General Aptitude Test. Candidates from pharmacy, science and technical backgrounds, including B.Pharm, Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, B.Sc Chemistry and relevant M.Sc disciplines, are eligible to apply. General category candidates must have secured at least 50 per cent marks in their qualifying examination, while SC and ST candidates require a minimum of 45 per cent marks.
The curriculum has been designed in accordance with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and carries 80 academic credits. The programme includes subjects such as Pharmaceutical International Business, Pharmaceutical Product Development, Pharmaceutical Brand Management and Biomedical Devices, among others.
University officials stated that the programme has been developed to bridge the gap between pharmaceutical sciences and business management. The course has been structured with inputs from industry experts, academic professionals and research institutions to meet the evolving needs of the pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors.
Growing demand for professionals in pharmaceutical marketing, product management, regulatory affairs, healthcare consulting and international business has created significant employment opportunities in the sector. Reports indicate that graduates entering pharmaceutical management roles can secure competitive career opportunities depending on their specialization and expertise.
According to a recent media report in The Times of India, the university has introduced the programme as an industry-oriented initiative to align academic training with the rapidly expanding pharmaceutical and healthcare industries and prepare students for emerging leadership roles.
The semester fee for the programme has been fixed at Rs 81,080, and the university considers it among the first such employment-focused pharmaceutical management programmes introduced by a state university in Uttar Pradesh.
