PCI Launches Revamped DIGI-PHARMed Portal for New Courses, Intake Expansion Applications

New Delhi: The Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) has announced the opening of its newly redeveloped DIGI-PHARMed portal for submission of applications related to the Introduction of New Course (INTRO) and Raise of Intake (RAISE) in existing pharmacy institutions for the academic session 2026-2027.
The development comes in compliance with the order dated September 8, 2025, passed by the Supreme Court of India in Miscellaneous Application No. 1409 of 2025 (with IA No. 155217 of 2025) in Civil Appeal No. 9048 of 2012.
In compliance with the Order dated 8.9.2025 passed by the Hon'ble Supreme court in Miscellaneous Application No. 1409 of 2025 with IA No. 155217 of 2025 in Civil Appeal No. 9048 of 2012, the Council has redeveloped a new application process on the DIGI-PHARMed Portal for the submission of applications pertaining to the Introduction of New Course (INTRO) and Raise of Intake (RAISE) in existing courses.
According to the Council, the INTRO and RAISE portal shall remain open throughout the year, subject to the academic calendar and timelines prescribed. Accordingly, PCI is enabling institutions to submit their applications through this newly developed portal in alignment with the prescribed schedule shared by Council earlier via circular No. 563 having Ref. No. 1456/2025-PCI (Review of SIF) dated 12.09.2025.
Furthermore, PCI clarified
- The Intro/Raise application for the 2026-2027 Academic Session has already been considered based on the SIF submitted by the institutions as the separate portal was under development.
- For the existing SIF, institutions will be required to submit the SIF as usual based on future communications by the Council later on for future academic sessions as per the academic calendar.
In addition, it noted that only those institutions that have successfully submitted their Standard Inspection Form (SIF) for the academic session 2026–2027 shall be eligible to apply for INTRO and RAISE applications.
PCI clarified that institutions that have not applied for the 2026-2027 academic session will be required to first submit the application for the 2027-2028 Academic session once Council opens the portal. Subsequently, the Intro/Raise application window will be opened for these institutions.
Key Instructions Issued by PCI
The portal shall be used exclusively for submission of INTRO and RAISE applications only. This application should not be considered as an existing SIF application for the given academic session by any existing institutions.
The institution must note that the application received till 14th November will only be considered for the prospective session as per the academic calendar.
Institutions are advised to ensure that all pre-requisite requirements and documentation are completed prior to submission. The application is divided into two phases i.e.
1. Phase 1: Submission of Statutory documents and additional necessary documents.
2. Phase 2:Once the first stage of statutory documents submission isapproved by the Council, then institutions will receive option to update the additional documents and information for their applicable category. In case, the Phase 1 is not “approved” then institutions application will be not considered for the Intro/Raise and neither will the option to submit Phase 2 appear.
3. The application will be considered as submitted only after the completion of Phase 1 with approved status and submission of Phase 2 details by the institutionsalong with the OTP authentication. If any institutions have only Phase 1 status as “submitted and approved” but did not complete the Phase 2 application then such applications will not be considered for the Intro/Raise Consideration of those existing institutions.
