Olatpur Doctor Dies in Suspected Fall from Balcony
New Delhi: In a tragic incident reported from Andhra Pradesh, a third-year B Pharmacy student died after allegedly jumping from a hostel building following a farewell party at SIR CR Reddy College of Pharmaceutical Science in Eluru.
The police has registered a case and launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death.
The deceased has been identified as Ch. Suvarshini, a native of Kuchipudi village under Pedavegi mandal in Eluru district. She was pursuing her third year of B Pharmacy and was staying in the college hostel at the time of the incident.
According to preliminary findings, the incident occurred on Wednesday night shortly after a farewell event at the college. Suvarshini was allegedly distressed after being pressured by her friends to dance during the party, along with certain remarks made during the event.
Police officials stated that the student had spoken to her family members over the phone shortly before the incident. Soon after, she allegedly jumped from the hostel building, sustaining severe injuries in the fall.
She was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment; however, despite medical efforts, she succumbed to her injuries while undergoing treatment.
Following the incident, a complaint was filed by her father, based on which the Three-Town police registered a case. Authorities have initiated a detailed investigation to ascertain the exact sequence of events and determine the reasons that led to the student taking such an extreme step. Times of India reports that officials are examining all possible angles in the case.
Officials added that all angles are being examined as part of the probe to establish the precise cause behind the incident.
