Panaji: The Goa government organised a workshop on organ transplant on Monday in collaboration with the Donation and Transplantation Institute, Barcelona, state Health Minister Vishwajit Rane said.

The three-day workshop will train personnel from the Goa Medical College and Hospital and the Directorate of Health Services in transplant procurement management, Rane said.

"The Donation and Transplantation Institute, Barcelona will be conducting an intermediary training course on organ procurement, management and preservation techniques. The aim is to strengthen Goa's cadaveric organ transplant programme and increase voluntary organ transplant and donations," he said.
