Pay Ayurvedic doctors at par with Allopathic doctors: HC

Pay Ayurvedic doctors at par with Allopathic doctors: HC

Nainital: The Uttarakhand High Court has directed the state government to pay Ayurvedic medical practitioners in the state on par with their Allopathic counterparts.

Dr Sanjay Singh Chauhan along with 101 others had filed a petition in the court claiming that they are doctors of Ayurvedic Yoga Unani Sidha Homeopathy (AYUSH) and were working in the state under the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM).

Advocate B N Maulekhie, counsel for the Ayurvedic doctors, informed the court that while the doctors working for AYUSH received Rs 28,000 per month, their Allopathic counterparts got Rs 48,000 per month for the same amount of work.

He claimed that the only difference in the work between the two was a difference of branch in the same field.

After hearing the petition, the division bench of justices Rajiv Sharma and Alok Singh directed the government to pay equal salaries to doctors working for AYUSH and their Allopathic counterparts.

First of all,it\’s a natural law that one should have same pay for same kind of work.
When u r serving the people on opd basis or even casualty..I think mbbs & ayush Drs require same competence & they have it.
In General practice usually both score equal.
The question arises when we go for specialty or super specialty…
So what the court has observed is perfectly right.

  3. First determine the competition level, Emergency care, employabilty in other setups ,demands of the society and last but not the least the competence in the international sphere. The allopathy system can single handedly sustain health care in any situation such as accidents, natural disasters/calamity. Is it possible for ayush specialists to do this? Let Ayush hospitals have EXCLUSIVE experts and let them enjoy even higher pay…if sustainable.

  4. I think no other system of medicine is involved in Medico-legal work & postmortem etc. and attends obstetric, surgical emergencies to keep them occupy 24/7. It appears nowadays everyone is against allopaths. Still they wish & try their wards get selected in MBBS.

  5. Mam agar ayush doctors ko bhi apni studies ke according kaam diya jayega to aapka kaam bhi kam hi hoga

  6. Even courts are confused for whom to call doctors and whom quacks

  7. Court ne hi decision liya he.aapko uska samman karna chahiye.
