PGI Chandigarh to readvertise for AIIMS Bhatinda Faculty recruitment
Bhatinda: One of the most awaited branches of All India Institute of Medical Sciences, AIIMS Bhatinda has failed to find suitable faculty including Professors, Assistant Professors and Associate Professors for 14 of its departments.
With over 21 positions still lying vacant, Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, (PGI Chandigarh) is moving to re-advertise for the said vacancies inviting eligible candidates for interview.
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare had declared PGI Chandigarh as the mentor Institute for operationalization of various activities at AIIMS Bathinda.
According to the statement made by certain officials to the HT, suitable candidates were not found for departments of Anaesthesiology, Burn and Plastic Surgery, ENT, General Medicine, General Surgery, Microbiology, Medical Oncology / Hematology, Neurosurgery, Nephrology, Obstreicians and Gynecology, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics, Pharmacology and Psychiatry.

However, not a single candidate was found suitable for at least 21 of the 100 or so positions of professors, associate professors and assistant professors at the institute. Hence, the PGI Chandigarh is going to advertise again for the vacant posts.
"We have certain criteria to fulfil keeping in mind patient care. The posts will be advertised again," a senior officer of PGI administration informed HT.
AIIMS Bhatinda
AIIMS Bhatinda came into being in 2016 when the foundation of the institute was laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his first tenure. It is estimated to be Rs 950-crore project, being constructed on Bathinda-Dabwali road, over an area of 177 acres.
The Bathinda AIIMS, a 750-bed premier medical institute with 10 speciality departments and 11 super-speciality departments; aims at providing super-speciality healthcare to the population while creating a large pool of doctors and other health workers in this region that can be available for primary and secondary level institutions being created under National Health Mission (NHM).

AIIMS Deoghar had recently released 09 vacancies for the Senior Resident post on the Ad-hoc basis. The selection will be done based on an Interview on November 4th.
