Practo, Uber tie-up to provide easy access to doctors
Practo, the online platform which provides easy access to book appointments with doctors has recently partnered with the app-based taxi platform Uber, to bring added comfort to reach doctors.
This service will be made available in India, along with other countries, including Indonesia, Philippines and Singapore. Under the new ambit, people who book an appointment using Practo's mobile application, can also check the closest Uber available at that time. Those who wish to add an appointment reminder can also set the alert.
After launching the initial service protocol, Practo and Uber intent to take it to the next level by integrating the service in such a way that the user is notified to book the Uber cab one hour prior to the doctor's appointment using the Practo platform.
The partnership comes with an India-specific inaugural offer where any existing or new user booking an appointment on Practo till 30 November, will get a free ride to and from the doctor's clinic.
Practo said it will soon cover more countries as the two partners continue their global expansion. "We work towards providing a simplified healthcare experience that reduces consumer stress and anxiety. Our goal with this partnership is to completely remove patient's anxiety and enhance convenience, by integrating with Uber," Shashank ND, founder and chief executive officer of Practo said in a media release.
Besides, new users who book their first appointment on the Practo application can avail of two free rides, up to Rs.200 a ride, with Uber till the year-end.
