Property Tax Notice to Apollo Hospital Ludhiana
“We have issued notices to SPS Apollo Hospital, as they did not pay the full amount of property tax, according to norms,” Superintendent Vivek Verma confirmed
Ludhiana: The city’s Municipal Corporation (MC) has recently served SPS Apollo hospital with five notices against tax violation for five consecutive years.
The move comes after the hospital administration did not pay the appropriate property tax amount to the authorities. “We have issued notices to SPS Apollo Hospital, as they did not pay the full amount of property tax, according to norms,” Superintendent Vivek Verma confirmed the move while talking to the Times Of India.
Verma further informed that they had inspected around 1,484 buildings out of 3,547, and the inspection was yet to be completed.
The civic body is currently on a verification drive against property tax defaulters. Till now, it has caught hold of around 40 such institutions that violated the tax norms. Hereby, the MC has started issuing notices to such defaulters.
MC officials had started a survey of 3,547 properties in the city, including malls, factories, and other institutions, after getting instructions from Mayor Balkar Sandhu. The properties were identified on the basis of house tax amount of more than Rs 25,000, which was paid by them before 2013, reports TOI.
