Pune: Started two years ago, Samajbandh, a social welfare centre in Pune works towards increasing menstrual hygiene amongst tribal women of the area. Sachin along with a group of friends took up the initiative after his mother underwent an operation for the removal of her uterus due to poor menstrual hygiene.

This organisation distributes sanitary pads made up of old clothes. Sachin gives away these pads to women of nearby tribal villages.

He also urged people through social media platforms to donate their used clothes and collects them himself. He and his team have reached more than 2000 women from different tribal villages.

He teaches women to make pads at home as well. He distributes the remaining clothes to orphanages and villages.
