"The 230-bed hospital at Kakryal near Katra shall be fully operational by March 30, 2016," said Ajeet Kumar Sahu, Chief Executive Officer, SMVDSB.
The CEO said he has informed the governor that all the facilities at the hospital shall be fully operational by March 30.
The state-of-the-art, Rs 300 crore hospital shall have more than 26 different streams of medicine and surgery, including cardiology, cardio-thoracic surgery, neurology, neuro-surgery, nephrology, urology, oncology, pulmonology, bone-marrow transplant, gastroenterology, orthopaedics, trauma-medicine, paediatrics and neonatology, obstetrics and gynaecology.
Governor NN Vohra, who is Chairman of SMVDSB, chaired a meeting at the Raj Bhavan here today to review the progress in the Board's various ongoing major infrastructure development projects.
For optimal utilisation of the complex, the governor has asked the CEO to formulate an annual calendar of sports events and stressed the need for organising local, state and national-level sports and games competitions.
He said that possibilities should be explored for organising coaching in some of the identified disciplines so as to boost the pursuit of excellence in those.
The Chairman and the Board asked the CEO to ensure that the complex is used strictly for sports purposes and not allowed to be utilised for any non-sporting activity.
