Divided by Specialities, United by sports: IMA's Doctors Olympiad-2023 to be held in Vijayawada
Vijayawada: The national sports meet of the Indian Medical Association (IMA), ‘Doctors Olympiad 2023’ will be held in Vijayawada from November 22 to November 26, 2023.
Dr Sharad Kumar made the announcement about the Olympiad during a press conference in Vijayawada on Tuesday. On his visit to Andhra Pradesh, the National President of IMA also unveiled the Logo and Promo of the Olympiad and addressed the Media there. The Olympiad will include 24 games and 85 disciplines.
The National President visited the IMA Vijayawada Branch to review the preparations for the IMA Sports Festival Olympiad. He also addressed IMA MSN Members at Siddhartha Medical College, Vijayawada. IMA invented the slogan " Divided by Specialities, united by sports." The event will take place at Doctors' Sports Academy grounds, Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh.
IMA-AP president Dr G Ravikrishna, national vice-president Dr D Srihari and State general secretary Dr P Phanidhar welcomed Dr Sharad and informed that more than 2,000 doctors from across the country are going to participate in the sports meet. This Mega event includes all track and field sports along with Racket sports and Team games like 20-20 cricket tournaments.
In a recent press release, IMA AP stated, "We are very much thankful to the IMA National leadership for giving us an opportunity to host this prestigious event. We request all the leaders, State Presidents and Secretaries to spread the message and share the brochure in all Local branches of your respective states. They can register through QR code and see all details in a user-friendly website."
"We humbly request all leaders to promote the event and encourage sportspersons in your branches to participate in large numbers. We assure you all a very pleasant & comfortable stay and enthusiastic sporting atmosphere during the games. Under the able guidance of national leadership, we are confident of making it a memorable event for years to come," it further added.
Last year the event took place in Nashik, Maharastra in October and this year the event will take place in Vijayawada and the Andhra Pradesh chapter of IMA will host the event.
