NEET 2026 paper leak: Latur coaching institute owner withdraws bail plea
New Delhi: A Delhi court on Thursday dismissed as withdrawn the bail application of a key accused in the alleged NEET UG 2026 paper leak case, after he chose not to press his plea.
The court granted him liberty to file a fresh bail application at a later stage, if required.
According to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), the accused, who runs a coaching institute in Latur, Maharashtra, is alleged to have been part of a conspiracy involving the alleged leak of the NEET-UG 2026 chemistry question paper ahead of the examination. The agency has accused him of obtaining the leaked paper and sharing it with students, allegations that he has contested through the legal process.
As per ANI report, the NEET UG Paper leak case accused Latur-based coaching institute owner withdrew his bail plea from the court on Thursday. Thereafter, the court dismissed the bail application as withdrawn.
The CBI alleged that he is actively involved in a conspiracy of leaking the chemistry exam paper before the NEET UG Exam 2026.
The bail matter was listed for arguments before Special CBI Judge Ajay Gupta on Thursday.
The Counsel for the applicant moved an application seeking withdrawal of the present application.

It was submitted by the Counsel that the applicant does not want to press the present application and the same may be dismissed as not pressed/argued on merits with the liberty to move a fresh application at a later stage.
The court allowed the application after hearing.
"Keeping in view of the submissions made by the Ld. Counsel for the applicant/accused, the present application is hereby dismissed as withdrawn," the Special Judge ordered.
While opposing the bail plea earlier, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had stated that Latur Coaching institute owner was actively involved in Conspiracy paid Rs. 5 lakh to accused chemistry professor to get the chemistry paper of the NEET UG Exam 2026.
The accused man runs a coaching institute in RCC Classes in Latur, Maharashtra and the professor/lecturer was the chemistry paper setter engaged by the NTA.
It is alleged by the CBI that the coaching institute owner provided the copy of the leaked exam paper to students. He leaked the chemistry exam paper before the examination.
The CBI has alleged that he is involved in the leakage of the question paper and the distribution of the same in Conspiracy with other Accused persons.
The CBI had submitted that this accused had received the chemistry questions and answers of NEET 2026 on 23.04.2026, prior to the scheduled date of examination.
It was further submitted that the said leaked question paper has been found in the mobile phone of accused, who also provided the leaked question paper and answers to several persons.
On a query by the court, the investigation officer had said that there is a video showing him saying that the question he gave to the students is in the question paper.
