Meanwhile, the Indian Medical Association Medical Students' Network (IMA-MSN) expressed solidarity with the medical students in Gujarat. Writing to the State MSN Units, IMA MSN Gujarat and Nearby States, the association expressed its "deepest condolences" and "unwavering solidarity" in the wake of the tragic incident in Ahmedabad, "which has claimed the lives of 249 passengers and 50 of our fellow medical students and unfortunately still counting."
"This is not just a tragedy for Gujarat, it is a tragedy for the entire medical student fraternity of our nation. Each life lost is a blow to the future of healthcare and humanity. The association urged all MSN State Units, especially those in proximity to Gujarat, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, and others, to mobilize and offer every resource at their disposal. IMA-MSN called for financial contributions to support for relief efforts, massive blood donation drives to support the ongoing treatment of survivors, field volunteers, doctors, and medical students for on-ground help, any other kind of logistical support required.
"This is a call not just for help, but for unity, for all of us to rise as one force, as one family, bound by compassion, duty, and the spirit of service. IMA MSN National is with you, now and always. We will coordinate, support, and back every initiative being taken at the ground level. Our national team is actively working to ensure the required support reaches you swiftly. To every student, volunteer, and family affected, you are not alone. The entire network of medical students across India is standing beside you, heart in hand, ready to serve," the Communication further read.
