Rohtak MBBS exam scam: Tampering found in answer sheets of 31 more students

Haryana: During the ongoing investigation into the MBBS examination scam that surfaced last year at Pt BD Sharma University of Health Sciences (UHSR) Rohtak, 'tampering' has been detected in the answer sheets of 31 more MBBS students from a private medical college.
In this regard, an official from UHSR, speaking on the condition of anonymity, stated that a committee is scrutinising the answer sheets of MBBS students from a private college, specifically those from the 2020-21 batch and subsequent batches, in order to identify others involved in this scam.
Over the past few months, more than 2,000 answer sheets have been closely examined. While some answer sheets were found to have been tampered with, numerous others revealed mismatches in handwriting.
He also stated that the official claimed the committee has recently referred these matters to the university's 'Board of Discipline' for action. This Board will have the answer sheets examined by forensic or handwriting experts and will summon the concerned students to record their statements.
Meanwhile, speaking to TheTribune, the Vice-Chancellor stated that the university is committed to exposing everyone involved in this scam. The investigation is ongoing, and the committee is scrutinising the answer sheets of those students whose names surfaced during the preliminary inquiry and subsequent complaints. We have also implemented several reforms to further strengthen the examination system.
This inquiry was conducted by a committee constituted by Vice-Chancellor Dr H.K. Agarwal, as complaints had been received suggesting that other students might also be involved.
On February 2, UHSR expelled 23 MBBS students from the same private medical college after their ‘involvement’ in this scam was proven. The students challenged these orders in the Punjab and Haryana High Court.
This scam came to light last January, and an FIR was registered against 41 people, including 24 students.
