Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has inaugurated a 70-bedded hospital for quality healthcare services to Shri Amarnathji Yatris.
Lieutenant Governor who visited Baltal inaugurated a 70 bedded fully-equipped DRDO hospital for the Amarnath pilgrims.

He also reviewed the preparedness and response mechanisms of all the stakeholder departments & carried out an on-site inspection of facilities on travel routes of Baltal and Pahalgam.
The review meeting at the base camps discussed lodging, health care, communication network, sanitation, water supply, weather forecasting, emergency response, fire safety and all other basic necessities.
The Lieutenant Governor stressed upon the better coordination among various agencies is of utmost importance for better facilities, seamless journey and spiritual experience for Yatris.
He said all the departments involved to ensure the best possible facilities as a high number of devotees footfall is expected for the annual pilgrimage.
The 43-day-long Amarnath Yatra will commence from June 30 to August 11, 2022, after two years of Covid restrictions in the Kashmir valley.
Medical Dialogues team had earlier published that two government hospitals in Jammu and Kashmir are among the top 10 institutions chosen by the AIIMS New Delhi for a research project to extend palliative care to patients with chronic debilitating conditions.
Government Hospital, Gandhinagar, in Jammu and Government Medical College (GMC) in Srinagar are among the 10 centres in north India that have already been developed for providing the palliative care. They have now been selected to handhold 100 district hospitals in providing similar services.
These hospitals will be provided with state-of-the-art advanced training in terms of confidence building, leadership qualities, and advanced palliative education for providing, pain palliative and supportive care services to terminally sick patients.
