Online Registration Portal of JK Medical Council inaugurated
Jammu: Bringing in a major reform, the Additional Chief Secretary of the Health and Medical Education (H&ME) Department, Vivek Bharadwaj recently inaugurated the Online Registration Portal of the Jammu & Kashmir Medical Council, which registers the name of the doctors in the UT.
This has been designed after due consideration for the Ease of Doing Business (EoDB), a major reform introduced by the J & K Government under the leadership of the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, adds Kashmir Reader.
Now, the applicants will be able to submit their applications online, make online payment, and get their provisional, permanent, and additional certificates delivered to them online.
Further, documents including No Objection Certificate, Good Standing Certificates, Duplicate Certificate, Verifications, CME registration etc can now be obtained online. Apart from that, now the Council operations including seeking verification, Registrar Approval and President's approval will all be conducted online from now on.
Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that the term of the JKMC had ended six months ago and the council was dissolved. The situation had landed the MBBS graduates in Jammu and Kashmir in trouble as even after graduating they were unable to get registered under the State Council, which is mandatory for the doctors in order to appear in the NEET-PG counseling process. Besides without the registration of the State Council, the doctors were unable to even practice.
In fact, raising the issue, the doctors had written to the Financial Commissioner and Additional Chief Secretary of Health and Medical Education Department, Shri Vivek Bharadwaj.
Finally, the J & K Medical Council got reconstituted a few days ago and in the order dated 20.10.2021, the UT Health and Medical Education Department specified the names of the four members of the State medical council, the regulating body of medical practice and education in Jammu and Kashmir.
