Jharkhand BJP MP accused of medical college hospital takeover fraud, FIR registered
Deoghar: In a significant development, an FIR has been lodged against Nishikant Dubey, Member of Parliament (MP) from Godda representing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), along with his wife and associates, for purportedly seizing control of a private medical college and hospital in Deoghar district through fraudulent means.
The FIR, registered at Jasidih police station in Deoghar district, was initiated by Shiv Dutt Sharma, who has accused Dubey and his wife, through the Baba Baidyanath Medical Trust associated with them, of unlawfully acquiring his hospital by manipulating documents related to the institution.
According to a PTI report, Dubey, who is contesting from the seat again in this election, asserted that if allegations brought against him were proven, he would quit politics.

According to Sharma's allegations outlined in the FIR, he had obtained a loan amounting to Rs 93 crore for the establishment of the medical college and hospital. However, following the failure to secure approval from the Medical Council of India, the loan was declared a non-performing asset by the bank.
Sharma further alleges that Dubey, under the guise of aiding him during a financial crisis, purportedly accepted Rs 20 lakh and promised to assist in finding a partner to alleviate his situation. However, instead of fulfilling this promise, Dubey allegedly orchestrated an auction in December last year, during which the Baba Baidyanath Medical Trust emerged as the sole bidder, effectively taking control of the institution.
The Paritran Medical College and Hospital has been constructed but is not functional.
“An FIR was lodged against seven persons, including Godda MP and his wife, on Saturday regarding a medical college and hospital and a trust,” police station in-charge Ravi Thakur said, adding a probe would soon be launched to ascertain the veracity of the allegations, news agency PTI reported.
Reacting to the FIR, Dubey wrote on X, “This is the 44th case against me after the formation of Congress @INCIndia and JMM government in Jharkhand.” “If Jharkhand Police proves this (allegations), I will quit politics. This medical college was purchased in the auction of DRT court. Jharkhand High Court has approved it. I am not its trustee. I am a soldier of the BJP,” he added.
Earlier, Jharkhand Congress wrote on X, “FIR registered against BJP candidate @nishikant_dubey for grabbing medical college worth crores, case registered in Jasidih police station.”
