25-year-old Paediatrics medico dies in scooter-tanker collision inside Karnataka's hospital campus
Shimoga: In an unfortunate incident, a 25-year-old Paediatrics student from Shimoga Medical College died in an accident inside the McGann Hospital campus in Shivamogga after the scooter she was riding collided with a water tanker.
The deceased, a first-year Paediatrics student, was travelling from the hospital to the hostel when the incident occurred. Another student, a final-year MD student from Bengaluru, sustained injuries and is currently undergoing treatment.
Police have registered a case and launched an investigation.
According to the PTI report, a tragic accident occurred within the premises of McGann Hospital on Thursday, March 12, resulting in the death of a Pediatric PG student after her Jupiter scooty collided with a water tanker. Another student sustained injuries in the incident.
The deceased has been identified as 25-year-old a resident of Bola village in Karkala taluk, Udupi district. She was a first-year Pediatric PG student at the Shimoga Medical College, adds PTI
The injured student from JP Nagar in Bengaluru, is a final-year MD student. The accident took place when both students were traveling from the hospital back to their hostel. According to reports, the scooty collided with a water tanker belonging to an individual from Kotegangur, which was being used to supply water for ongoing building construction work on the hospital campus.
The deceased medico's body has been shifted to the McGann mortuary, while Overia is currently undergoing treatment at McGann Hospital. A case regarding the incident has been registered at the West Traffic Police Station.
