Kottayam: In an unfortunate incident, an MBBS student who returned from overseas allegedly committed suicide on Tuesday. The medico was reportedly under home quarantine.
According to recent media reports, the deceased was a 20-year-old MBBS student who was studying in Russia and she returned home on July 9th.
Her body was found hanging inside her house by her neighbours. She was staying in isolation when she took the drastic step.
The student was in constant touch with her family during the quarantine, however, on July 13th, when they called, her phone was not reachable. TNIE reports that authorities had collected her swab samples to test for coronavirus.
According to SanthigiriNews, the test result came negative. Meanwhile, the Police are also investigating whether the stress of being under COVID's surveillance led to his suicide. The police will also check the student's mobile phone and laptop to see if there is any other reason that pushed her to take the extreme step.
