Pune: A doctor attached to Lokmanya Hospital recently raised alarm and led to an arrest of an impersonator posing as the personal assistant to Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) State President, Chandrakant Patil, seeking Rs 25 lakh as donation for the treatment of COVID patients.

Following the threat, the complainant spoke to the BJP leader and on realising that someone had falsely impersonated Patil''s staff, he lodged a complaint at Nigdi police station, reports PTI
"But when we checked with the politician, we found that he had made no such call. The accused also threatened to harm us physically if we don't give up the money," the doctor told Mumbai Mirror.
