It has been reported that instead of taking her to the hospital, he left for a Yoga Day celebration at his school. When he returned, he found her daughter lying unconscious at home.
According to police, the incident took place on Friday night at the family's home. After learning about his daughter's low marks in the NEET examination, the father asked her about the reason for her poor performance. As per Lokmat times, he lost his temper and questioned her angrily: “How did you score so low in the NEET practice test? How will you ever become a doctor like this?”
In response, the student retorted, “You also used to score low marks. Did you become a collector?” Her reply allegedly enraged her father further. In a fit of anger, he beat her severely with a wooden pestle used in a traditional grain grinder.
His wife tried to intervene and stop the rage, but later that night, he reportedly beat the student again.
Due to the continuous beating, she sustained serious injuries, but he left for a Yoga Day celebration at his school. When he returned, he saw that she was lying unconscious. She was rushed to the hospital, but it was too late, and she died.
Following her death, her mother filed a complaint against her husband at the police station. During the investigation, the police sent the girl's body for a postmortem, which revealed multiple signs of physical assault all over her body.
Based on the postmortem report and preliminary investigation findings, the police arrested him and an investigation is underway.
