Sion Hospital Assistant Dean arrested for allegedly trying to sell MD Pediatrics seat for Rs 50 lakh
Mumbai: The Assistant Dean of Lokmanya Tilak General Hospital (Sion Hospital) has been arrested on Wednesday for allegedly taking a bribe of rupees 50 lakh from an MBBS graduate and duping her on the pretext of granting her PG medical admission to the MD Paediatrics course.
The medico realized that she was duped after noting that even after taking the money, the accused did not give any seat to her. After this, she approached the police and filed a case of cheating against the assistant Dean of the institute.
The 54-year-old accused assistant dean was arrested under the IPC section 420 but he was admitted to Sion hospital after it was found that he was facing health complications due to hypertension.
