Odisha cabinet approves 2 new medical colleges with 100 MBBS seats in Jajpur, Puri
Briefing the newsmen after the cabinet meeting Finance Minister Niranjan Pujari and Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy said the Teaching hospital, 100 seated MBBS, and 500 bedded new government medical College would be constructed at Jajpur with an estimated cost of Rs 426,51,31,000.
Bhubaneswar: Odisha Cabinet recently decided to construct two teaching hospitals, one each at Jajpur and Puri on a turnkey basis to improve medical education in the state.
The cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik approved the lowest bid of M/s Larsen & Toubro Ltd for the execution of the work at Puri and Jajpur.
The project has been targeted for completion within a period of 36 months. Briefing the newsmen after the cabinet meeting Finance Minister Niranjan Pujari and Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy said the Teaching hospital, 100 seated MBBS, and 500 bedded new government medical College would be constructed at Jajpur with an estimated cost of Rs 426,51,31,000.
Similarly, the teaching hospital for the new government medical College at Puri would be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 224,55,69,000.
These two teaching hospitals would cater to the needs of qualified doctors required for health institutions.
