Puducherry: OBC students not getting 50 percent MBBS reservation due to Modi govt, alleges VCK leader
Puducherry: Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) leader Thol Thirumavalavan on Wednesday alleged that the OBC students are not getting 50 percent reservation in Medical Education only due to BJP-led NDA government at the Centre.
Talking to newspersons on the sidelines of a demonstration held by the party at Anna Square here on the issue, Thirumavalavan said that 500 students are affected because of this and their rights are deprived.

The Modi government should shoulder full responsibility for this, he said.
BJP is a party that always played 'dual role', he alleged, adding that it will give a promise to the people and do another thing in the government and this social justice is being 'buried'.
He also alleged that, on the guidelines of the Central government, Tamil Nadu governor Banwarilal Purohit is delaying giving his consent on the 7.5 percent reservation for government school students in Medical education.
Political parties are remaining mere 'spectators' on the issue and the AIADMK government is going in favour of the BJP and against Hindus, he alleged.
He said that VCK is the only party that demands 50 percent reservation for women.
