100-seat medical college to be come up soon in Malerkotla

Malerkotla: In a move to boost medical education in Punjab, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann recently announced the construction of a 100-seat medical college in Malerkotla. This initiative is part of a larger Rs 200 crore development plan aimed at the overall growth and progress of the historic town. The medical college will not only enhance access to quality education but is also expected to position Malerkotla as a medical education hub in the state.
Alongside the medical college, a 200-bed super-speciality hospital will be built to cater to the healthcare needs of the region. The upgrade of the existing girls' college is also part of this extensive development project, demonstrating the state government's commitment to improving both educational and healthcare infrastructure in Malerkotla.
Punjab Chief Minister and senior AAP leader Bhagwant Mann said, "A 100-seat medical college will be constructed that will help Malerkotla emerge as a medical education hub. A 200-bed super speciality hospital will also come up"

Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann laid the foundation stone of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Government Medical College. The medical college, being built at a cost of Rs 300 crore, will offer 50 MBBS seats to students seeking MBBS admission in the state of Punjab.
According to an official statement, Punjab’s Doaba region will get its third medical college within 36 months as CM Mann laid the foundation stone of the medical college.
The SBS Government Medical College will be attached to the District Civil Hospital, the statement said.
The Punjab government has decided to construct SBS Government Medical College at a cost of Rs 300 crore as a tribute to these martyrs, the CM said.
