18-year-old NEET aspirant allegedly dies by suicide in Kota

Madhya Pradesh: In a tragic incident, an 18-year-old National Eligibility and Entrance Test (NEET) aspirant allegedly committed suicide at her rented accommodation in the Dadabari police station area in Rajasthan's Kota.
The deceased has been identified as a resident of Chhatarpur, Madhya Pradesh, and had been staying in Kota for the last few months, preparing for online tests.
The girl reportedly consumed a poisonous substance in her room around 11:30 pm on Thursday night, after which she began vomiting.
Station House Officer (SHO) Baldev said the student had moved to Kota about two and a half months ago and was preparing for the medical entrance exam. She was self-studying and enrolled in an offline mock test series while living in a rented room in the Basant Vihar area.
The matter came to light when a fellow student told neighbours she had consumed something poisonous and asked for help. She was taken to the New Medical College hospital but died during treatment. Her body was kept in the mortuary and a postmortem was conducted on Friday after her family members arrived, the police official said.
A case has been registered under the relevant sections. Currently, the investigation is underway and statements of relatives and acquaintances are being recorded to ascertain the cause of the incident, reports HT.
Medical Dialogues had earlier reported about the Patna NEET aspirant death case. As of now, the CBI recently registered an FIR and taken over the investigation into the suspicious death of the NEET aspirant from Jehanabad. The case has been classified as a special case under number 7S/26, transferring the investigation entirely from the Bihar Police to the central agency.
Officials stated that the investigation has begun. On this, the special officers from the CBI's regional office have travelled to the agency's headquarters in New Delhi with important records and physical evidence related to the case. The agency is expected to re-examine all aspects, including forensic findings, medical reports, and witness statements, and address questions that remained unresolved in the previous investigation.
