Tamil Nadu medical council invites applications from FMGs for permanent registration, check complete details

Chennai: The Tamil Nadu Medical Council has invited online applications from Foreign Medical Graduates (FMGs) for permanent registration, laying down detailed eligibility criteria and internship guidelines in line with the norms of the National Medical Commission (NMC).

The state Medical Council has called for applications for Permanent Registration from Foreign Medical Graduates (FMGs) who fully comply with eligibility criteria prescribed by the National Medical Commission in the relevant Public Notices, including completion of mandated internship as well as adherence to the prescribed norms regarding the mode and duration of study.

As per the latest notification, only those FMGs who have completed the mandatory internship, cleared the screening test, and fulfilled all prescribed academic and regulatory requirements will be eligible to apply, with strict verification procedures and compliance checks in place.

Applicants must apply online only and upload mandatory documents such as compensation certificate, supported by duly authenticated transcripts clearly indicating the period of compensation, along with passport records substantiating their study period and compliance with NMC norms.
All documents submitted by the applicant will be subject to verification of authenticity. The Council reserves the right to verify the credentials directly with the concerned foreign medical institution and any other appropriate authority, as deemed necessary.
Every application will undergo detailed scrutiny. The Tamil Nadu Medical Council reserves the right to call for additional documents, information, or clarifications at any stage of the process. Submission of incomplete, false, fabricated, or forged documents, or suppression of any material information, will lead to rejection of the application and may also attract legal action under the applicable laws.
Foreign Medical Graduates - Internship Portal Rules And Regulations
1. Foreign Medical Graduates, after completing the degree from a recognized foreign Medical college shall clear the screening test conducted by National Board of Examinations in Medical sciences and Register at Tamil Nadu Medical Council &The Tamil Nadu Dr.MGR Medical University.
2. Candidates who have obtained NOC from The Tamil Nadu Dr.MGR Medical University are ONLY eligible to apply for FMG internship through the FMG portal.
3. Candidates shall apply for internship from the 1st to 10th (till 05:00PM) of every month through the portal.
4. A new registration ID shall be created by the candidate. Email address or the new registration ID shall be used as a login ID and create a password of their choice.
5. Candidates are further advised to fill the application form on their own on the Foreign Medical Graduates Internship web portal and not through any agent or third Party.
6. The candidates shall upload the necessary documents (Provisional Certificate, Degree Certificate & NOC from the studied foreign institution, NEET Score Card/ Eligibility certificate from National Medical Commission, Eligibility certificate from Tamil Nadu Medical Council and NOC obtained from The Tamil Nadu Dr.MGR Medical University) in the web portal. Application submitted through any other mode shall not be entertained.
7. Candidate should ensure that all information filled during the online submission of application form are correct and factual. Information provided by the candidates in the online application / registration form shall be treated as correct and self-certified and Directorate of Medical Education & Research shall not entertain, under any circumstances, any request for change in the information provided by the candidates.
8. Suppression of any factual data if found, candidate will be disqualified for next 3 years.
9. All fields marked with (*) in the application form should be filled mandatorily.
10. The vacancies for internship in Government /Private Medical Colleges /State Private Universities will be displayed in the portal and the candidates shall give their choices (Any number of places can be chosen per candidate) for the available vacancies while applying for internship allotment. Candidate shall indicate their order of preference for the vacancy while applying for internship.
11. Application for internship cannot be edited or modified after final submission. Choice filling can be modified till 10th of every month.
12. A Registration fee of 500/- shall be paid by the candidate (non- refundable) through portal.
13. Results will be declared on 16th of every month along with the list of allotted and un allotted candidates.
14. Allocation will be strictly based on the SENIORITY (Date of NOC from the Tamil Nadu Dr.MGR Medical University)&CHOICE FILLING.If more than one candidate has same Date of NOC, Serial Number of NOC will be taken as seniority.
15. The allotment will be made based on the choices filled by the candidate at the time of application submission.
16. Candidates cannot claim any seat that are not filled by him / her during application submission.
17. Directorate of Medical Education &Research will not allot any colleges to the candidates other than the options exercised during choice filling.
18. The selected candidates shall download the allotment order via FMG portal& apply to TNMC (through TNMC online portal) to get Certificate of Provisional Registration from 16th to 19th of every month.
19. The TamilNadu Medical Council Online portal page for applying Certificate of Provisional Registration will be open only from 16th to 19th of every month.
20. If any of the candidates failed to download the allotment order, the allotment will be cancelled & it will be considered as NOT JOINED.
21. Candidates shall join for internship before 25th of every month after submitting the Allotment order &Certificate of Provisional Registration to the respective Government/Private Medical Colleges / State Private Universities.
22. The allotment stands cancelled if the candidate does not join the college on or before 25thof every month. If 25th is a government holiday, the candidates should join on the previous working day.
23. If any of the candidates failed to join within the given time period, the seat automatically stands cancelled.
24. If the candidate fails to join the allotted place, he or she will NOT BE ALLOWED to apply for subsequent two-month allotments.
25. They shall register again after two subsequent allotments and after due payment of the registration fees.
26. The seats which become vacant because of non-joining candidates will be moved to vacancy list of the next month allotment and will be included along with the newly available vacancies.
27. Un-allotted candidates in a particular cycle will be allowed to participate in the next allotment cycle and change the college choices without payment. (New choice filling of the un allotted candidates should be completed between 1 to 10th of the subsequent month).
28. If the candidate does not select an option within 10 days, the application will be cancelled. They need to re-apply in the next allotment with due payment of the registration fees.
29. Applicants already registered / under processing in private Medical Colleges / State Private Universities are ineligible for this process.
30. Only candidates without any previous internship allotment are permitted to apply through the portal.
31. No individual communication will be sent to the candidates by post / SMS /email.
32. The institutions shall follow the National Medical Commission guidelines regarding fees and stipend.
33. Applicants who are already under going CRMI in any Medical Institutions in Tamil Nadu or elsewhere, are ineligible to apply. If applied, it will be cancelled.
34. Applicants who have already obtained provisional Eligibility certificate based on the NOC from concerned self financing Medical Colleges / State private Universities are ineligible to apply.
