Hyderabad: The process of license registration or renewal process for doctors has become now digitalized in Telangana as the State Medical Council has launched a portal for exclusively catering to this process.
Telangana State Medical Council (TSMC) launched this portal recently, with an aim to expedite the license renewal and registration process ahead of the elections for the apex medical body in the State, adds Deccan Chronicle.
Previously, there were only four types of licenses were issued by TSMC. However, the online portal will now issue 15 different types of licenses to doctors.

In the portal, TSMC has also provided a list of documents required for online registration process. Different set of documents are required for obtaining different types of documents. Such online services include duplicate certificate of medical registration, provisional registration for other country, final registration for other country, provisional medical registration for who completed MBBS a Telangana, provisional registration for MBBS graduates of other States in India, final medical registration, registration of additional qualifications, renewal/re-registration, no objection certificate, good standing certificate, non utilisation letter of NOC, temporary permission, MBBS internship training programme for FMGs, name change in certificate etc.
Specifying the size of documents to be uploaded (JPG only with Proper Naming Conventions), the list mentioned that the file name should not contain any special characters and should have less than 20 character length. The size of the photo is 50KB, for signature it is 50KB and for other documents, the size is 200KB.
As per the latest media report by Deccan Chronicle, referring to the online portal, the officials of TSMC pointed out that the registration process has been so sluggish that an exercise that had to be completed by last August remained incomplete as doctors have been delaying the process of registrations for various reasons.
"The portal was officially launched on Monday to make it easy for doctors to go about the registration/renewal process online and be saved from the trouble of visiting the office," an official told the Daily.
