Depressed over low marks in prep test, NEET aspirant commits suicide in UP's Etah
Etah: Suffering from depression after failing to secure more marks in a prep test for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) examination, a 19-year-old aspirant allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling at her residence in Uttar Pradesh’s Etah.
The aspirant who returned home from Kota after one year of NEET coaching was found hanging in her room by her mother. She was taking classes for the upcoming NEET exam for admission to an undergraduate medical course while staying at her home.
According to the statement provided by her father, the girl stayed with her mother in Kota for one year. She got lower marks in her preparatory test, which was the prime reason for her depression.

The incident occurred on Monday when the girl asked her mother to attend a puja in their neighbourhood. After her mother was gone, she went to the fourth floor of her house and hanged herself. When her mother returned home, she found her daughter's lifeless body hanging from the ceiling.
Following this, the police rushed to the spot upon getting the information and conducted a preliminary investigation. No suicide note was recovered from the room. Therefore the police are yet to confirm the exact reason for her death.
Her body has been sent for postmortem and the police have registered a case of unnatural death. An investigation is underway.
