Mob threatens Senior Govt Doctor for referring patient to another hospital
Kolkata: A senior doctor working at the emergency ward of Baghajatin Hospital was confronted by a threatening group of 15 people, warning the doctor of dire consequences for referring a patient to another hospital.
As per a recent media report in TOI, the mob, from Vidyasagar colony, reached the hospital after the concerned patient was referred to another hospital by the EMO on Sunday afternoon.
The doctors alleged that a woman patient was also assaulted during the ruckus that was created.
An FIR regarding the same was lodged on Monday by Aniket Mukherjee, a general duty medical officer at the hospital.
The complaint has, reportedly, been filed against Surajit Ghosh and 15 other people involved, reports TOI.
Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that in a series of cases of manhandling front line healthcare workers, two doctors including a Superintendent of Pandit Raghunath Murmu Medical College and Hospital in Baripada were roughed up and attacked following the death of patients.
