IPGMER to get Infectious Diseases Dept

Kolkata: The Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education and Research (IPGMER) is set to start a super speciality course on Infectious Diseases (ID) as the institute has received the administrative sanction from the state for its infectious diseases (ID) department.
In December, the School of Tropical Medicine (STM), Kolkata, secured approval from the National Medical Council to start three seats of DM in ID. If all the development occurs according to the plan, after STM, IPGMER will be the second in Bengal to run this course.
As per a recent media report by the Times of India, the health department issued an order and stated that the state has given its nod for the creation of 50 new posts in different categories for the ID department at IPGMER & SSKM Hospital.
