When should the patient go for a surgical approach to manage Hemorrhoids? - Dr MN Pavan Kumar - Video
Overview
The decision to opt for a surgical approach in the management of Hemorrhoids depends on the severity of the condition and the response to conservative treatments. In cases where conservative measures, such as dietary modifications, lifestyle changes, and medication, fail to provide relief and the Hemorrhoids are classified as Grade III or Grade IV, a surgical intervention might be considered.
Grade III Hemorrhoids protrude through the anus during straining or evacuation but can be manually returned to their position. Grade IV Hemorrhoids, on the other hand, remain prolapsed outside of the anus. These advanced stages often require more aggressive interventions. The choice of surgical approach depends on factors such as the patient's overall health, the extent of the Hemorrhoids, and the surgeon's recommendation.
In this video, Dr. MN Pavan Kumar, Gastrointestinal and Bariatric Surgeon from Yashoda Hospital, Somajiguda, Hyderabad, provides a comprehensive overview of the optimal surgical approaches for managing Hemorrhoids in patients. He discusses key considerations, procedural options, and the optimal timing for surgical intervention, providing a perspective on enhancing patient care in the context of Hemorrhoidal management.
