Tendulkar, Kohli, Rohit, Zaheer join Yuvraj's cancer-affected kids campaign
New Delhi: Indian cricket icons Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Zaheer Khan have pledged their support for Yuvraj Singh’s campaign which will help in raising awareness and funds to educate 100 cancer affected kids.
On the occasion of World Cancer Day on Thursday, Yuvraj announced “Together We Can” — a crowd-funding initiative on DesiredWings.com.
The cricketer has pledged his support to raising money through the crowd-funding initiative; the money raised will be used for the education of young cancer survivors.
Money raised will be utilised to give scholarships to 100 children for their primary and higher education.
The idea behind the initiative is to support the education of these young cancer patients and survivors who belong to the underprivileged section of our society and help them in securing their future.
“Out of all my centuries I feel the most proud in sponsoring education of 100 cancer affected kids. Join me in batting against cancer and let’s give wings to survivors and contribute on Together We Can Campaign,” Yuvraj said in a release on Thursday.
“As a mother, I whole heartedly give my support to patients and their family members. I am blessed to be able to provide scholarships to cancer survivors and making them believe that anything is possible,” Yuvraj’s mother Shabnam Singh said.
