Pune: A renowned orthodontist and one of the founders of Satara Hills Marathon, Dr Sandeep Lele lost his life in a dreadful accident which took place on the Pune Satara highway after the doctor’s cycle crashed into a truck on the highway.
The unfortunate incident took place on Saturday around 8:15 in the morning near a toll booth on the outskirts of Satara city, when Dr Lele was returning home along with his companions after cycling for 50 km. While on his way back home, Dr Lele’s cycle hit the rear of a truck which was ahead of him and halted all of sudden. This led to serious head injuries to the doctor. Dr Lele was rushed to a hospital but succumbed during the treatment, reports PTI.
Sandeep Lele, an athlete and an orthodontist by profession was also a very active member within the athletic community.
