Dehradun: Taking stern note of the poor performance of doctors in a surprise written test, the concerned authorities have suspended of five contractual Ayurveda practitioners.
The test was conducted in April as part of the yearly evaluation programme.
Claiming that the surprise test was a violation of the guidelines laid down by the National Health Mission (NHM), the terminated medical practitioners who were deployed in Udham Singh Nagar district under Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram, have condemned the harsh action.
Responding on the termination, Udham Singh Nagar DM Neeraj Kherwal told TOI, “The terminated candidates failed to uphold the high standards expected of them. Those who have claimed that they could not appear for the test will get a fair chance to take the test again.”
According to the daily, two doctors were on casual leave on the day of the test and three others had obtained low scores.
