Chandigarh: Haryana minister Anil Vij said 55 health and welfare centres would be established in all districts of the state during the current financial year.
These centres would be set up with the help of the Centre where people would be provided extensive primary healthcare services, he said.
According to the minister, on the directions of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Centre has prepared an extensive plan for providing proper healthcare to all citizens of the country.
"Under this, quality healthcare services would be provided to the people at low cost in their areas and these centres are part of this plan," Vij said in an official release here.
He said these centres would be linked to primary health centres, community health centres and civil hospitals.
"These centres would have treatment facilities for ENT, ophthalmology, dental problems, mental diseases, management of communicable diseases and others," Vij said.
Five such centres would be set up in Mewat, four each in Bhiwani and Hisar and one to three centres would be set up in each of the other districts, the minister said adding about Rs 10 lakh has been estimated to be spent on each of the centres.
According to an official, the existing sub-centres would be converted into health and welfare centres according to the need.
