7-yr old girl tests Japanese Encephalitis (JE) positive in Indore

The state of Indore reported its first positive case of Japanese Encephalitis (JE), with samples of a 7-year old girl of Shanti Nagar testing positive of deadly vector-borne disease in Indore. The state of Indore reported its first positive case of Japanese Encephalitis (JE), with samples of a 7-year old girl of Shanti Nagar testing positive of deadly vector-borne disease in Indore. The girl is reported to be in comatose state and is under constant observation at the MY Hospital in the state.
According to Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO) Dr S Porwal, CSF samples of the girl were sent to Pune laboratory where they were tested positive. “We have already conducted survey of Shanti Nagar locality, on Monday and keeping an eye on her conditions constantly.”
