Dr. Atul Kumar, MD, FAMS, FRCS(Ed) is the Medical Director at AK Institute of Ophthalmology, Safdarjung Enclave He is a Former Chief and Professor of Ophthalmology at Dr. R.P. Centre, AIIMS, New Delhi since 1st January 2016- August 31st 2021. He was the Member of National Board of Examinations Specialist Board in discipline of Vitreo Retinal Surgery, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India 2020. He was appointed as Hony. Advisor Ophthalmology by Govt. of India, May 2016. For contribution to healthcare in the field of Vitreo-Retinal Diseases and Surgery the President of India awarded him “Padma Shri” in 2007. In October 2006, he won Fellowship of the prestigious National Academy of Medical Sciences, India.
