Alleged Harassment: Doctor booked after nurse commits suicide
The deceased served as a nurse at the primary health centre of the village while the doctor is the head of the primary health centre.
Rajkot: A doctor has been booked by district police for allegedly harassing a 22 years old nurse after a complaint was filed when she committed suicide. According to a recent media report, the doctor has been booked on the accusations of allegedly demanded sexual favour from the nurse and then harassing her when she refused to give in. Due to the harassment, the nurse allegedly took her own life.
The case relates to one 22 years old nurse who on April 24, reportedly consumed poisonous tablets. The very next day she was admitted to the VS Hospital in Ahmedabad, however, soon succumbed to her injuries leading to her death. The deceased served as a nurse at the primary health centre of the village
The death of the nurse brought into focus a doctor who heads the primary health centre in the area.It has been reported that she was allegedly being pestered by the doctor in want of illicit favours. However, she refused to meet his demand, reports TOI.

Following the nurse's death, the deceased's father lodged a complaint against the doctor in the district police station. The doctor has been now been booked based on the complaint.
An official from the Jhinjhuvada police station told TOI, "We have booked Dr Naresh Makwana, who is the head of the primary health centre, for the crime on the complaint of Mayuri's father Kalu Parmar. His complaint alleged that Makwana used to harass Mayuri as she did not give in to his demand for sex."
