Ambulance Workers Federation threatens to go on strike on Aug 14
Shimla: All India Ambulance Workers Federation on Monday threatened to go on a strike from August 14 if their demands are not met soon.
In a statement here, Mr Puran Chand, General Secretary of Jeewan Rakshak Bhartiya Ambulance (JRBA) Karmchari Federation NHM (National Health Mission) said that he had written a letter to Union Government giving ultimatum for the strike.
''We have submitted a memorandum to Union Health minister Jagat Prakash Nadda seeking to bring all the ambulance employees in every state under the purview of NHM,'' Mr Chand said.
''We are also demanding to regularize all employs working with JRBA. Equal pay for equal work is also demanded; the employees expect that this step would put check on the exploitation of the employees by the private company", he added.
"If the union government does not fulfill their demand across the country, even after the 5th August, they would hold nation wide strike on August 14 as per the decision taken by federation core committee", Mr Chand said.
