In a rocking move to the medical education field, the Supreme Court has cancelled the fraud AIPMT exams today. The exams were held on May 3,2015 and around 6.3 lakhs candidate had taken it. The exams are quashed by a bench of justices R K Agrawal and Amitava Roy on the grounds of mass cheating at various centers throughout the country. The supreme court highlighted that since the examination stood vitiated due to cheating, as well as the failure of the police to catch all the cheating students, it had no option but to quash the exam.
CBSE has been directed by the court to hold fresh examinations within 4 weeks. While students have to go through the ordeal of examination again, Medical community overall upholds the judgement for its righteousness and justice.
