Ayurveda Doctor duped, Wife Faked BAMS Degree to Secure Marriage
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: A 31-year-old Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) doctor from Ranjangaon, who owns a hospital, has filed a cheating complaint against his wife, her parents, and an intermediary, accusing his wife who has only completed her 12th grade of falsely claiming to be a BAMS doctor to get married. The complaint was filed following a court order.
The doctor accused them of allegedly misleading him about the woman's educational qualifications during marriage discussions. It has been reported that the accused was informed that his wife had completed her BAMS education but in reality, she had only completed her 12th standard education.

The complaint was filed on December 27 with the MIDC Waluj police. The accused persons involved in the case include wife Diksha Barfe, her parents and mediator Ankush Ramnath Kanade of Ranjangaon.
The doctor, Nilesh Damuji Sathe, is a qualified BAMS and MD Ayurveda doctor who runs a hospital near the Kamalapur-Ranjangaon junction and is a resident of Gandhi Nagar, Ranjangaon.
As per Lokmat Times news report, the incident took place after the mediator, Ankush Kanade who is a shopkeeper and has a clothing shop next to the hospital introduced the woman to the doctor. Kanade shared a long-standing friendship with Dr Sathe.
Through his mediation, Kanade asked for a biodata from Diksha's father, which was sent to Dr Sathe. According to Kanade’s information, the biodata mentioned that Diksha was in the final year of BAMS at Mahamaya Technical University, Noida. Following this, both of them tied the knot on March 31, 2023.
But the alleged scam came to light four months later from the marriage when Dr Sathe encouraged his wife to start checking patients. Therefore, he provided a separate cabin to his wife and instructed her to examine female patients and provide them with medical treatment. Instead of starting her career, his wife allegedly left for her parental home in Bajaj Nagar the very next day when she was asked to join the cabin.
The sudden move from his wife made him suspicious and he enquired about her qualification from the concerned university only to find that had never been enrolled in the said institute, and she had only completed her 12th-grade education. The revelation prompted the doctor to approach the court.
