Haryana: Three people in Ambala including a woman have been placed under arrest after an Ayurveda practitioner lodged a police complaint alleging that the accused offenders have been blackmailing him and extorted money from him saying that they will file a rape case against him if he did not pay them the asked amount.

According to the media reports, the ayurvedic doctor was first called home by the woman to check her medical reports, and then the accused allegedly made a fake video as part of the conspiracy. The doctor was then blackmailed by them.

The Dainik Jagran reports that the doctor was an Ambala based ayurvedic practitioner (63) who stated in his complaint that he visited the accused woman's house on her request, however, they drafted up an obscene video and threatened him on the basis of that video.

The blackmailers then claimed 10 lakh rupees from him and threatened if their demands were not fulfilled, they would lodge a false rape case against the doctor.

Scared that the fake evidence can bring doom and tarnish his reputation, he paid them 4 lakhs; however, even after the extortion when they demanded more, the doctor filed a formal complaint against the accused three.

While describing the incident, the doctor told TOI "Sudesh had been visiting me for treatment from about 10-15 days. On June 23, Sudesh called me at her home for seeing reports of her medical tests. When I reached her home and seeing her reports, two men came there and one of them was wearing Khakhi uniform. They forcibly stopped me there, the three started assaulting me and they threatened to implicate me in a false rape case and demanded Rs 10 lakh extortion. In fear of my reputation, I paid Rs 4 lakh. When they did not stop calling me for money, I decided to lodge a complaint against them."

On his complaint, a case was registered against accused Ram Prakash, Mahinder and Sudesh under Section 388 (extortion by threat of accusation of an offence), 389 (putting a person in fear of accusation of an offense), 342 (wrongful confinement), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 506 (criminal intimidation), 170 (personating a public servant) 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Ambala City police station on Tuesday night.

Ambala City police station house officer (SHO) inspector Ram Kumar said, "The arrested three accused were presented in the district court, which sent them on two-day police remand. We are investigating this case and have hope of disclosure of more such cases from these accused", reported a daily.
