New Delhi: India's homoeopathy sector is witnessing a significant rise in demand both within the country and across international markets, driven by growing consumer confidence in quality-assured "Made in India" medicines, experts said. This growing demand reflects a broader shift in perception, with Indian homeopathic products increasingly being trusted for their quality and effectiveness.

The momentum comes following the government’s push under Prime Minister Narendra Modi to strengthen global credibility through the AYUSH Premium Mark initiative, reports DAILY EXCELSIOR. This initiative is playing a key role in reshaping India’s position in the global homeopathy landscape by ensuring that products meet internationally accepted standards.

Dr. Subhash Kaushik, Director General of the Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy (CCRH) under the Ayush Ministry, stated that over the past year, the introduction of stricter quality frameworks and certifications has significantly improved the perception of Indian homeopathy. He noted that the sector, which was once largely viewed as a domestic strength, is now gradually gaining recognition as a credible and competitive global player.

He emphasized that the AYUSH Premium Mark has emerged as a key differentiator in this transformation. The certification ensures adherence to stringent manufacturing standards aligned with global protocols, including those recommended by the World Health Organization, thereby enhancing trust among international consumers and markets.

Experts further pointed out that the adoption of globally aligned certifications is enabling Indian companies to access more regulated and quality-sensitive markets. As a result, India is increasingly being seen as a reliable sourcing hub for homoeopathic medicines in the global market.

Sharma stated that the AYUSH Premium Mark serves as an important global quality benchmark, assuring that products meet the highest standards required for international acceptance, particularly in export markets. He also highlighted the role of the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories accreditation in ensuring that testing and validation processes maintain scientific consistency and precision.

He added that although German homoeopathy brands have long been regarded as the global standard, the landscape is gradually changing. With a strong practitioner base, extensive clinical experience, and improved quality assurance systems, India is steadily strengthening its position and competitiveness in the global homeopathy market.
