Apply for New PG Medical Qualifications or Face Action for Unapproved Courses: NMC Warns Medical Colleges
New Delhi: Once again, the Postgraduate Medical Education Board (PGMEB) of the National Medical Commission (NMC) has asked the medical colleges to submit proposals for the addition of new medical qualifications, further clarifying that running any unapproved PG courses may attract action from the Commission.
In a recent notice, the PG Board of the Commission has asked the medical colleges to submit proposals for adding new medical qualifications that have not been included in Annexures-1, II, III, IV, V, and VI of the Postgraduate Medical Education Regulations-2023 to the Board.

Doctor Gets HC Warning After Challenging Suspension as Punishment for Ragging
Ahmedabad: The Gujarat High Court recently warned to impose a fine on a postgraduate medical student for challenging the suspension that he received as a punishment for ragging a junior.
When the HC bench expressed its disinclination to entertain the plea and warned of a fine, the concerned doctor withdrew the petition from the Court.

Indore: An investigation into the murder of an Indore-based homoeopathic doctor has revealed shocking details as the police discovered that it was allegedly pre-planned by his wife. The woman, who has been in an extramarital affair with a lawyer from Ujjain since 2021, is accused of conspiring with her partner to hire a hitman to kill the doctor.
Although the doctor's wife confessed to the relationship during interrogation, she denied her involvement in the murder of the doctor. The lawyer who is a prime suspect in the case is currently absconding which prompted the police to launch a manhunt for him and offer a reward of Rs 5,000 for any information about his whereabouts

FRA to conduct Surprise Inspections at Private Medical Colleges Over Fee complaints
Mumbai: Amid the controversy over the Fee Regulating Authority (FRA) delisting a Sangli-based private medical college for overcharging fees, the Fee Panel has now decided to conduct surprise inspections at the private medical colleges across the State following complaints of excessive fees charged during admissions.
This comes after the Directorate of Medical Education and Research (DMER) submitted a report that highlighted the irregularities in nine private medical colleges, HT has reported.
