NEET PG 2025 to be conducted on August 3 in Single Shift

The NEET PG 2025 will be held on August 3, 2025. The Supreme Court has given its approval, considering the application filed by the National Board of Examinations (NBE) seeking to postpone the exam to the proposed date.

This development follows a recent directive from the Court mandating that the exam be conducted in a single shift to ensure fairness and transparency. In response, NBEMS proposed August 3, 2025, as the new date for the examination and sought an urgent hearing on the matter.

Today, the apex court bench comprising Justice Prashant Kumar Mishra and Justice Augustine George Masih allowed the application filed by the NBE for extension of time to conduct the NEET PG 2025 exam till August 3, 2025, as per a recent report by LiveLaw.

Kerala HC Quashes Mandatory Internship Order for FMGs

Granting major relief, the Kerala High Court recently quashed the State Government's order imposing internship fees on the Foreign Medical Graduates (FMGs).

While considering a batch of pleas challenging the State policy of imposing an internship fee for the FMGs to complete their mandatory internship programme in government hospitals, the HC bench comprising Justice N Nagaresh emphasised that only the National Medical Commission (NMC) had the power to regulate internships.

Further, the HC bench also opined that the State Government's action of imposing an internship fee was contrary to the Apex Medical Commission's guidelines.

The pleas before the High Court were filed by foreign medical graduates who completed their medical degrees in countries like Russia, Bulgaria, the Philippines, and Guyana. After passing the screening test i.e. Foreign Medical Graduates Examination (FMGE) and obtaining provisional registration, these students applied for internships in government hospitals in Kerala.

No NEET 2025 re-exam: Madras HC dismisses plea, says 22 lakh candidates can't be affected

The Madras High Court recently dismissed a plea seeking re-examination of the National Eligibility-Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET) while observing that if any re-exam is permitted on trivial grounds, the same would seriously affect the level playing field of around 22 lakh candidates.

Filing the plea, a group of NEET aspirants sought a re-examination as they claimed that their examination centre was disrupted due to the heavy rainfall and poor management by the centre.

Justice C Kumarappan dismissed the plea after taking note of the report filed by the National Testing Agency (NTA), which mentioned that even though there was brief power outage during the examination, it did not affect the performance of the candidates, as the examination halls were reported to be sufficiently illuminated with the natural daylight. Apart from this, NTA further claimed in the report that the School Authorities had also arranged for power backup facility.
