Death by negligence: Unani practitioner administered allopathic injections, arrested

Thane: A unani practitioner has been arrested by the local police for alleged negligence on account of administering allopathic medicine to a young patient leading complications which allegedly led to his death.
The case concerned a 24-year old resident of Shil Village in Thane who went to the Burhani Clinic and Maternity Day Care Center with a complaint of stomach ache and breathlessness. He was attended by Dr Khan in the clinic where he administered him two doses of injections - Deriphylline and Ranitidine. The condition of the patient kept deteriorating and was further taken to the Kalsekar Hospital in Mumbra where he was declared dead.
