NMC has prepared the revised seat matrix in view of the recent changes in renewal of existing UG (MBBS) seats, as well as additional MBBS seats sanctioned this year.
"In continuation seat matrix circulated vide Public Notice dated 24.09.2025, kindly find .. an updated seat matrix (MBBS) as on 10/10/2025 for the Academic Year 2025-26. The instant Seat Matrix is to be uploaded on the official website of the National Medical Commission for the information of all stakeholders," NMC MARB mentioned in the notice dated 11.10.2025.
Referring to the MARB notice dated 11.10.2025, the Secretary of NMC, Dr. Raghav Langer, wrote to the Deans/Principals of all medical institutes and mentioned, "Kind reference is invited to the Medical Assessment and Rating Board's (MARB) Notice of No. N-15029/09/2025-UGMEB dated 11-10-2025 regarding updated seat matrix in view of recent changes in renewal of existing UG(MBBS) seats as well as additional seats sanctioned for UG(MBBS) for the Academic Year 2025-26. All the concerned Medical Institutions, Parents, Student and other stakeholders are requested to take note of the same."
The revised MBBS seat matrix, released by NMC, revealed that there are a total of 126600 MBBS seats available this year across 812 medical colleges, including the 9075 MBBS seats that the Commission approved this year.
Last year, the Commission granted permission for 117750 MBBS seats. However, during the renewal process for the Academic Year 2025-2026, a total of 456 seats were reduced.
Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that on 13.09.2025, NMC had released the MBBS seat matrix, which revealed that 123700 MBBS seats were available this year, and NMC approved 6850 new MBBS seats. The earlier data also showed that during the renewal process for the Academic Year 2025-2026, a total of 1056 seats were reduced.
Thereafter, NMC released a revised seat matrix on 26.09.2025 and informed that 124825 MBBS seats were available this year across 809 medical colleges, including the 7375 MBBS seats that the NMC approved.
Now, NMC has released another updated list. As per the new list, there are altogether 114 MBBS seats available at Andaman and Nicobar. In Andhra Pradesh, the total number of seats available this year is 7065. Further, there are 100 seats available in Arunachal Pradesh, 1875 seats in Assam, 3395 seats in Bihar, 150 seats in Chandigarh, 2455 seats in Chhattisgarh, 177 seats in Dadra and Nagar Haveli, 1396 seats in Delhi, 200 seats in Goa, 7425 seats in Gujarat, 2710 seats in Haryana.
Further, 970 seats are available in Himachal Pradesh, 1675 seats in Jammu and Kashmir, 1205 seats in Jharkhand, 13644 seats in Karnataka, 5304 seats in Kerala, 5675 seats are available in Madhya Pradesh, 12674 seats in Maharashtra, 525 seats in Manipur, 200 seats in Meghalaya, 100 seats in Mizoram, 100 seats in Nagaland, 3025 seats in Odisha, 1873 seats in Puducherry, 1899 seats in Punjab, 7230 seats in Rajasthan, 150 seats in Sikkim, 12650 seats are in Tamil Nadu, 9340 seats are in Telangana, 400 seats in Tripura, 13275 seats are available in Uttar Pradesh, 1450 seats in Uttarakhand, and 6174 seats are available in West Bengal.
Therefore, when compared with the seat matrix released on 26.09.2025, 100 seats have been increased in Andhra Pradesh, 50 seats have been increased in Chhattisgarh, 25 seats in Gujarat, 200 seats in Haryana, 50 seats in Himachal Pradesh, 250 seats in Karnataka, 50 seats in Madhya Pradesh, 100 seats in Maharashtra, 50 seats in Odisha, 200 seats in Rajasthan, 200 seats in Tamil Nadu, 150 seats in Telangana, 150 seats in Uttar Pradesh, 50 seats in Uttarakhand, and 150 seats have been increased in West Bengal in the updated seat matrix.
