New Delhi: Through a recent notification, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has reminded the FMGE candidates about the last date for rectifying any deficiency related to the documents submitted for procuring eligibility certificates.

In terms of Section 13(4B) of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 and Clause 4(2) of the Screening Test Regulation, 2002, an Indian National/Overseas Citizen of India who desires to take admission into MBBS or its equivalent course in a Medical University/Institution outside the country, is required to obtain Eligibility Certificate from the NMC before leaving the country.

It is not permissible for the holder of a primary medical qualification to appear in the FMGE Screening Test without obtaining an Eligibility Certificate from National Medical Commission.

Therefore, the candidates must submit the eligibility certificate to the National Board of Examination (NBE), the conducting body for FMGE, before appearing for the screening test.

The Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) Screening Test is scheduled to be held on 12/12/2021 and as per the requirements, the candidate is not allowed to apply for Screening Test without the Eligibility Certificate.

The last date for submitting the application to the National Board of Examination in Medical Sciences for the same has ended on 03/11/2021, whereas the NMC closed its portal for submission of the eligibility certificate on 22/10/2021.

Now, the NMC, notifying the Foreign Medical Graduate's (FMG's) who have applied for issuance of Eligibility Certificate from it, has issued a full-fledged advisory

With this, the NMC pointed towards the Para- 2.8.2 and 8.29.2 of the information bulletin of FMGE December-2021 of the National Board of Examinations (NBE) wherein it has been clearly mentioned that deficiency related to documents uploaded i.e., Proof of possessing Primary Medical Qualification, Eligibility Certificate/Admission letter, etc., can be rectified latest by 30.11.2021.

In this regard, the NMC has informed that all the applications which are pending with the Ethics & Medical Registration Board (EMRB) and have been submitted online by the candidate to the EMRB by the closing date 22.10.2021 are being scrutinized and those that are found to be in order with all the required documents, will be issued Eligibility certificate before the last date of submission to National Board of Examination in Medical Sciences as per notification.

In respect of applications found to be deficient, the applicants will be notified by email on their registered email id about the same. All the candidates are advised to regularly check their email and login portal on the NMC website for any deficiencies that have been noted in their applications. Deficiencies, if any, should be rectified latest within three days of the receipt of mail positively and no later than 15.11.2021 in any case, failing which their applications will be rejected, the NMC advisory stated.
"Those applications that have already been resubmitted after corrections & rectifications, will also be dealt with in a similar manner. In case, deficiencies still persist in their application even after they have re-submitted them, no further opportunity for any further rectifications are permissible and their application will be treated as rejected without assigning a reason," the NMC added

No fresh applications are being accepted after the last date i.e. 22.10.2021.

The regulator has stressed that no Verbal / Physical queries will be entertained at the National Medical Commission. All correspondence may be sent only by email
